Appendix 3 - Bypassing the V-Chip Parent Lock

After you set the lock, you will need your passcode in order to:
• view a V-Chip locked program
• view the locked TV
• cancel the lock
• enter the locked menus
If you forget your passcode, you can view the locked TV without entering your passcode. To do
this, simply press the buttons on your remote labeled "9" and "QV" at the same time when your
passcode is requested. Unlocking the TV this way is temporary.
If entering the V-Chip Parent Lock menu, then "9" and "QV" will delete your old passcode and

To change or permanently cancel the V-Chip Parent Lock:
When changing or deleting your passcode, you must use the
remote control included with this TV. You cannot use a
remote control from another Mitsubishi component and you
cannot use "Universal" remotes from other manufacturers.
