CONFIGURATION GUIDE
Standard RAID Configuration at the Initial Server Delivery
Standard RAID configuration for the same type of internal drives at the initial server delivery is as follows
RAID 50 and RAID 60 are not supported for BTO configuration

Need to order same capacity/rotation speed drives in one group (disk array) for RAID configuration at
BTO configuration.
Initial settings of RAID Controller is Wrhite Through without Flash Back-up Unit. When needing higher
performance, recommend Write Back with Flash Back-up Unit..
(Please refer to the manual attached to the RAID Controller for the setting information.)

■Connection to RDX (USB) by Device Expansion Unit

Conditions to connect to RDX (USB)
When using Device Expansion Unit (1U/2U) with the embedded RDX (USB) [N8151-125], please
connect to USB connector on rear side of the server. Not allowed to connect to USB connector of SUV
cable.
Please use an external USB cable of USB2.0 supported [K410-197(00)] K410-307(1) for USB3.0 is not
available.
2m cable is necessary to connect between Device Expansion Unit and USB connector on rear side of the
server. Therefore, please be aware of the following restrictions about the location of the Device
Expansion Unit:
Device Expansion Unit [N8141-75] (2U)
Device Expansion Unit [N8141-74] (1U)
Only HDD cartridge is available as Data Cartridge for Back-up (SSD cartridge is NOT available.)

Can locate within 3U space from the top or bottom of the server
In case of locating directly on top or bottom of the server, all devices (device
#1-#4) are available.
In case of locating within 1-3U space, devices on the left hand side from the front
(right connecter #3, #4) from the rear) can be available. Devices within 660mm in
depth can be installed between the server and the Device Expansion Unit.
Can locate within 2U space from the top or bottom of the server.
Devices on the left side from the front (right connecter #2 from the rear) can be available.
