Turn on the machine.

Load the original document on the Platen Glass.

Press the Scan button, then press the Black or Color button.
The MP Navigator EX opens.
Note
When using Windows Vista:
The program selection screen may be displayed after performing step 4. In this
case, select MP Navigator EX Ver1.0 and click OK.
You can set MP Navigator EX to launch whenever performing step 4. For details, refer
to the Scanning Guide on-screen manual.
When using Windows XP:
The program selection screen may be displayed after performing step 4 for the first
time. In this case, specify MP Navigator EX Ver1.0 as the application software
to use, select Always use this program for this action, then click OK.
From the next time, MP Navigator EX is automatically started.
Computer Preparation for Macintosh
Important
Make sure that the MP Navigator EX is installed and that the Macintosh is
connected to the machine before starting up Image Capture.
If you are using Mac OS X v.10.3.x
Select Applications on the Go menu, then double-click the Image Capture icon. Click
Options at lower left of the scanner window, select MP Navigator EX 1 in Application
to launch when scanner button is pressed, then click OK. To quit Image Capture,
select Quit Image Capture on the Image Capture menu.
