    Combustion Air and Ventilation for Appliances Located in Unconfined Spaces UNCONFINED SPACE is space whose volume is not less than 50 cubic feet per 1,000 Btu per hour (4.8 m aggregate input rating of all appliances installed in that space. Rooms communicating directly with the space in which the appliances are installed, through openings not furnished with doors, are considered a part of the unconfined space.

    NOTE: A water temperature range of 120°F-140°F (49°C-60°C) is recommended by most dishwasher manufacturers. The thermostat of this water heater has been factory set at its lowest position (PILOT LIGHTING). It is adjustable and must be reset to the desired temperature setting to reduce the risk of scald injury.

    Turn “OFF” the entire gas supply to the water heater. The high temperature Shut-off is built into the gas control valve. It is non-resettable. If the high temperature Shut-off activates, the gas control valve must be replaced. Call Maytag Customer Service at 1-800-788-8899 for an authorized servicer.
