Connecting to a non Bluetooth
device via the Tek Transmitter
The Tek Transmitter allows a device that is not Bluetooth enabled
to be connected via Bluetooth to the miniTek/Tek Connect only.
Tek Transmitters automatically pair (see FAQ for definition of pair)
to the miniTek/Tek Connect when a Tek Transmitter program is
selected. So, for example. If the TV is set up on program 4 and the
miniTek/Tek Connect is used to select program 4, then the Tek
Transmitter automatically connects the device to the miniTek/Tek
Connect, in this case allowing the sound from the TV to be sent
directly to the hearing instruments. The Tek Transmitter has a
small LED in one corner, if this light is flashing then there is
currently no connection. If the light is solid then the transmitter is
connected to a miniTek/Tek Connect. If the LED is a red colour
then it is connected to a power source or requires charging.

The advantage of using Bluetooth is that the transmitter can be up to
10 metres away from the miniTek/Tek Connect allowing you to be
remote from the device that you are using. For example, you can
leave the transmitter plugged into your TV and sit in your favourite
armchair and listen in comfort.
To physically connect the Tek Transmitter to your device, you need to
select the appropriate cables. The Tek Transmitter has a 2.5mm stereo
jack in one corner of the casing. Cables 1 and 2 can be physically
connected to the Tek Transmitter via this socket and the other end of
the cable should be plugged into the device you want to listen to. You
can do this via one of the following three methods:
