You can avoid static discharge by touching a grounded metal object such as your computer’s case before and during installation of hardware inside your computer or by wearing a grounding strap connected to ground.
  • Page 15 If it does, use an extra set of rails that came with your computer and attach them to the sides of CD-Writer Plus. If you do not have an extra set, contact your computer’s manufacturer to obtain rails.

This jumper can be pulled off using your fingers, tweezers, or needlenose pliers, and placed on a different pair of pins to change the setting.

The IDE connectors are on the motherboard, which is the largest circuit board in your computer, taking up most of the bottom of a desktop computer or the side of a tower computer.

    CD-Writer Plus drive, simply remove the CD from the drive tray when starting up your computer. If you do not want your computer to boot from the CD-Writer Plus drive, you need to change the “boot order” settings in your CMOS program.
