Priorto operatingyoursnow thrower,carefullyread and followall
instructionsbelow.Performall adjustmentsto verifyyoursnow
throweris operatingsafelyand properly.
When theauger controlis releasedand in the disengaged"up"posi-
tion, thecable shouldhavevery little slack, but shouldNOTbe tight.

In a well-ventilated area,start the snowthrowerengineas
instructedin the O_erationsection. Makesure thethrottle is set in
the fastposition.G_p
2.
Whilestandingin the operator'sposition(behindthe snow
thrower),engagethe auger controland allowthe augerto remain
engagedfor approximately tensecondsbeforereleasingthe
augercontrol.Repeatthis severaltimes.
3.
With theengine runningin the fastposition '_
and the
augercontrol in the disengaged"up"position,walk to the front
of the machine.Confirmthat theauger has completely stopped
rotatingand showsno signsof motion.
4.
If the augershowsany signsof rotating,immediately returnto the
operator'spositionand shut off the engine.Wait forall moving
parts to stop beforereadjusting the augercontrolcable.

1.
Movethe shift leverintosixth (6) position.
2.
With thewheeldrivecontrol released,pushthe snowthrower
forward,then pull it back.The machineshouldmovefreely.
3.
Engagethe drivecontroland attemptto movethe machineboth
forwardand back,resistanceshouldbe felt.
4.
Movethe shift leverintothe fast reverse(R2) positionand repeat
the previoustwo steps.
If youexperiencedresistancerollingthe unit, eitherwhenrepositioning
the shift leverfrom 6 to R2 or whenattemptingto movethe machine
with the drivecontrolreleased,adjust thedrive controlimmediately.

Controls
1.
Frombeneaththe handle,pull downward on theappropriatecable
and unhookthe springfoundon the end of the cablefrom its
respectiveactuatorbracket.Referto Figures9 and 10.
2.
Slide thespringup the cableto exposethe cablecouplerthreads
and lock nut. Referto Figure11.
3.
If adjustingthe drivecable,threadthe lock nut outward(downthe
coupler)to lengthenthe cableand allowthe unit to movefreely
whenthe controlis released.Threadthe lock nutinward(up the
coupler)to shortenthe cableto reduceslippageand preventthe
machinefrom being easilymovedwith the drivecontrolengaged.
4.
If adjustingthe augercable, threadthe lock nut downto lengthen
the cableas necessaryto stop the augerfrom turningwhen the
controlis released.

Reattachthe springto the rearmostholein the actuatorbracket.
