The RX-V1400 is a top-grade receiver that will provide all the power and control necessary for any high quality
home theater system. It introduces the new YPAO, which automatically adjusts the output from each speaker
for the best possible sound at your listening position. Other major features include 7-channel discrete
amplification (110W x 7), Yamaha's Digital ToP-ART concept, Quad-Field CINEMA
DSP, 31 surround programs, full movie sound format compatibility, SILENT CINEMA,
Night Listening mode, and component video up conversion.
RX-V1400
Digital ToP-ART
Yamaha's Digital ToP-ART design concept
combines the latest and best technologies,
parts and circuit designs to maximize sound
quality. Among its outstanding features are
192kHz/24-Bit D/A Conversion for all
channels, a 32-Bit Floating-Point
Quantization System LSI (YSS-930) for
CINEMA DSP processing, and an Accurate
Touch Volume Control that governs all
channels.
31 Surround Sound Programs
The wide range of sophisticated surround
sound programs is one of the main benefits
of Yamaha receivers. Viewers/listeners can
match the program to the type of movie they
are watching or the type of music they are
listening to. They can also have fun trying
different combinations. The 31 programs
offer a total of 55 variations.
RX-V1400 Extensive System Connections
In addition to the input and output terminals shown in the chart, the RX-V1400 provides 7-
channel (front/center/surround/surround back) preout terminals, 6-channel external decoder
input terminals (8-channel compatible), a subwoofer output terminal, and remote control IR
Code input/output for custom installation, and +12V Trigger Output for automatic power on
of other components. It also offers 9-channel speaker terminal. The detachable power cable is
separate, rather than attached to the unit, and is a thicker type than usual, for higher power
handling capacity.

Digital Sound Field Processing for
Sensational Movie Sound
The RX-V1400 uses a powerful 32-bit
Yamaha-developed LSI to provide an
astounding range of realistic music and movie
sound via 31 surround programs. It is of
course compatible with the latest movie sound
formats, including Dolby Pro Logic IIx, and
also provides 2 THX programs.
Component Video Up Conversion
Up video conversion (composite to S-Video
and component, S-Video to component) and
well as down video conversion (S-video to
composite) is automatically applied to
incoming signals. This means that you simply
use the best possible cable between the
receiver and the TV, and then
whatever the source is, you are
assured of getting the highest
possible quality.
