    System Outline What is the TOSHIBA mobile audio player? The TOSHIBA mobile audio player plays audio data which is stored in its internal memory or on an SD memory card (option). Songs in audio CDs, MP3 or WAV files can be stored on this player. To store them you must use the supplied TOSHIBA Audio Manager software.

    For a use of long duration If you want to use this player for a prolonged period of time, attach the supplied battery housing to the player. Load batteries into the supplied battery housing. Open the lid and load batteries in the correct direction, and close the lid. Attach the battery housing to the player.

    Preparation Installing the TOSHIBA Audio Manager When you use this player for the first time, install the supplied TOSHIBA Audio Manager software into your computer. Make sure that a CD-ROM drive and a USB interface are available on your computer.

Substitution by other means may result in damage or malfunction. • The player consumes power of 400mA/5V while connected to a computer. Confirm that a USB connector of your computer (or USB hub) satisfies this requirement before connecting the player.

    Preparation Using an SD memory card (option) If you insert an SD memory card (option) into the player, you can write audio data to it to play. Inserting an SD memory card Open the card slot on the player. Push the tab down. Insert an SD memory card into the card slot.

    What is TOSHIBA Audio Manager? The TOSHIBA Audio Manager is software which enables you to play your MP3 or WAV files or songs in audio CDs on this player. Using the TOSHIBA Audio Manager, you will do: • import MP3 or WAV files or songs in audio CDs and make them into audio data playable on this player.
  • Page 20 Notes on the TOSHIBA Audio Manager • Display requirement Use the TOSHIBA Audio Manager on a computer with a color monitor of more than 800 x 600 resolution and of more than 65536 color capacity. If resolution of a color monitor is below it, windows of the program will be displayed beyond the actual screen size.

  • Page 22 The following window (player window) appears. Important To use the TOSHIBA Audio Manager for the first time, it is necessary to initialize the software. If a message appears, connect the player to your computer and follow the instructions on the program to initialize the software.
  • Page 23 This section explains how to import audio data from an audio CD. If you have prepared audio data (MP3 or WAV file) on your computer, refer to the online help of the TOSHIBA Audio Manager. Insert an audio CD into a CD-ROM drive on your computer.
  • Page 24 Using the TOSHIBA Audio Manager (continued) Click the check box of a song you want to import, and click “↑Import.” The process indicator starts counting. The “LIBRARY” list shows imported songs. Before clicking “↑Import,” you can enter a name in “PlayList” for songs you selected.

Notes • PlayLists do not appear if the player recognizes only one PlayList inside, or after you have turned the player off without stopping play.
