Loss of explosion protection
Risk of explosion in hazardous areas if the device is open or not properly closed.
• Close the device as described in Installing/mounting (Page 25).
Enclosure open
Risk of explosion in hazardous areas as a result of hot components and/or charged capacitors
inside the device.
To open the device in a hazardous area:
1. Isolate the device from power.
2. Observe the wait time specified in Technical data (Page 87) or on the warning sign before

Exception: Devices exclusively having Intrinsic safety (Ex i) may be opened in an energized
state in hazardous areas.
