Network Management

4.7.4.1
SNMP
The device supports two versions of Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) for
managing and monitoring network components, and can send SNMP messages (traps) to IP
addresses. The unit supports SNMP MIB II in the unified code.
Select the required protocol.
If you select either of the SNMP version, but do not enter an SNMP host address, the camera
does not send messages (traps) automatically, but only replies to SNMP requests.
Enter the IP addresses of one or two required target devices to send SNMP traps
automatically.
4.7.4.2
Quality of Service
Quality of Service (QoS) configuration options ensure fast network response to PTZ data and
images. QoS is the set of techniques to manage network resources. QoS manages the delay,
delay variation (jitter), bandwidth, and packet loss parameters to guarantee the ability of a
network to deliver predictable results. QoS identifies the type of data in a data packet and
divides the packets into traffic classes that can be prioritized for forwarding.
The priority of the different data channels can be set by defining the DiffServ Code Point
(DSCP).
Consult with your network administrator for assistance in configuring these parameters (the
values must be a multiple of 4).
Define the priority of the Audio data channel. Enter a number between 0 and 252 as a multiple
of four.
Define the priority of the Video data channel. Enter a number between 0 and 252 as a multiple
of four.
Define the priority of the Control data channel. Enter a number between 0 and 252 as a
multiple of four.
Define the priority of the Alarm video data channel. You can set a higher priority than for
regular video. Enter a number between 0 and 252 as a multiple of four.
Select the required Post-alarm time over which the priority is maintained.
4.7.5

Multicast

The camera can enable multiple receivers to receive the video signal simultaneously. The
stream is either duplicated and then distributed to multiple receivers (Multi-unicast), or it is
sent as a single stream to the network, where it is simultaneously distributed to multiple
receivers in a defined group (Multicast).
Bosch Security Systems B.V.
Selecting SNMP v1 legacy requires a reboot before the SNMP traps become available.
When SNMP v3 is selected, the tabs User and Trap user are displayed.
The same fields show in both tabs.
Select Off to deactivate the SNMP function.
