NETWORK INTERFACE MODULE (NIF)
This is the network interface module used for all the GS4000 models. There are three types of
modules for NIF shown below.
•
Standard NIF
•
High port-density NIF
•
High port-density PSU-integrated NIF
The standard and high port-density NIFs, are installed into a PSU. The high port-density PSU-
integrated NIF is installed into the slot for the PSU.
Note that the type of PSU you can use is decided by the type of NIF used together with it.
Regarding the usable combination of NIF and PSU types, see the following table.

NOTE: Do not install the optional components of GS4000 (or GR4000) into the devices
other than the GS4000 (or GR4000). Doing such a thing causes a fire or an
