When you restore a backup file, the following data in the laser marking system are
overwritten: marking files, graphic files, font files, function settings for all files and partly the
system settings.
The laser marking system retains the original settings of the following parameters: current
counter value, time and date of system clock, settings of "Power optimization by marking
position" (LP-GS, LP-RC), settings of "Marking field calibration" (LP-RF, LP-RV), settings of
optionally added hardware and software functions (e.g. PROFINET), error log, command
history, operating data.
To restore LP-400/LP-V backup data, you must first convert it to the backup file format .lmb.
1.
Establish an online connection between your PC and the laser marking system.
Do not turn off the power supply during an online connection with your PC. Otherwise a data loss or
system failure may occur.
2.
Go to the "Data management" screen.
3.
Select "Restore".

Select a backup file (.lmb) to be restored and select "Open".
5.
In the dialog, specify if you want to restore the following settings:
"IP address (Ethernet)", "IP address (EtherNet/IP)", "Laser marker name".
"IP address (EtherNet/IP)": This check box is displayed if the optional network unit is
installed.
Make sure the IP address for the laser marking system does not overlap with IP
addresses of other external devices.
6.
To overwrite the settings with the backup data, select the check boxes.
Do not select the check boxes if you want to keep the setting as they are.
7.
Select "OK".
8.
Select "Close" in the completion dialog.
9.
Turn off the power of the laser marking system, wait five seconds and then restart the
system.
The new settings will be updated in the laser marking system.
