Configuring a File Server and a Private File Server

The steps to configure a File server and a Private File server are the same. In
the steps that follow, a File server is configured to illustrate the sequence of
prompts and actions. However, you can use the same instructions to
configure a Private File server.
To configure a File server or Private File server, perform the following steps:
1 From the Additional Server Configuration Menu, choose 4 (DFS Private File
Server) or 5 (DFS File Server):

Enter Cell Administrator's principal name:(cell_admin)
Enter password:
S:****** Modifying the registry database for DFS
server operation...
S:****** Starting bosserver...
S:****** Starting ftserver...
2 dce_config prompts for the name of the System Control machine. If your cell
does not use a System Control machine, enter the name of the local machine. This
name must exactly match the output of the hostname command.
Enter the name of the system control machine: node_name
3 dce_config prompts for the file system type of the aggregate to be exported.
Choose 1 (Native File System) or 2 (Episode File System). The remaining steps
assume you choose 2.
Enter the filesystem type for the aggregate to be exported
1. Native File System (UFS or HFS)
2. Episode File System (LFS):
selection: 2
4 dce_config prompts for the device name of the aggregate to be exported. Enter a
name of the form /dev/lvxx.
Enter the device name (for example, /dev/lvXX): /dev/vg00/
