Introduction
M.1.1
Purpose and scope
This appendix details how to remove and attach the following Minitrans transit locks:
interior PGA lock (the product ships with this engaged)
exterior cradle lock (only required where the product is directly mounted to the body
of a transformer using the direct mount cradle)
M.1.2
Transit considerations
Ensure that:
Prior to installing the locking mechanisms, the product has finished its current
measurement cycle and is in Standby mode before being powered off. This
prevents oil remaining in the headspace during transit.
Transformer oil supply and return valves are in the Off position prior to and
for the duration of transit. If the product is to be removed from the
transformer, ensure that the transformer inlet and outlet valves, and the
pipework valves are closed before removing the pipework.
Any transit locks are fitted prior to transit and removed prior to powering on
the product to take measurements.
M.1.3
Power-down procedure
Observe the operating mode on the LCD. Ensure that the product has finished its last
measurement and is in Standby mode before proceeding. If the product is in Standby
mode, perform the following steps:
Open the door of the product and turn the power switch to the Off position (located
bottom right of the product) and as shown in Figure M-1.
The external switch or circuit breaker shall be turned to the 'Off' position.
The oil valves at the transformer to the input and output of the product shall be turned
to the 'Off' position.
