    Using aluminum Use aluminum foil to catch spillovers from pies or casseroles: Place the foil on the oven rack below the rack with the food. Turn up foil edges and make sure foil is about 1 inch (3 cm) larger all around than the dish holding the food.

    Broiling NOTES: Preheating is not necessary when broiling. Leave the door partly open whenever using the oven to broil. This allows the oven to maintain proper temperatures. 1. Position rack. See “Broiling rack position chart” on page 17. 2. Put food on broiler pan and place in center of oven rack.

Press the Start/Enter pad. If you want food to broil slower from the start, press the Custom Broil pad and press the V Temp pad so a temperature between 300°F and 500°F shows on the small display.

    Broiling tips Use the broiler pan and grid for broiling. They are designed to drain excess liquid and grease away from the cooking surface to help prevent spatter, smoke, or fire. After broiling, remove the broiler pan from the oven when you remove the food. Drippings will bake on the pan if you leave it in the heated oven.

    Before setting Move Lock Lever all the way to the right-the Clean position. Setting the controls 1. Press Auto Clean pad. A 4%hour Self-Cleaning cycle will be set automatically. 2. Start oven. NOTE: The Clean Indicator Light will light up and the Latch Door Indicator Light will flash if the door is not latched (Lock Lever set at the clean position).
