13.23 Miscellaneous

This test checks that the battery charge coupling
signal to CCU is correctly connected and is
functioning.

13.24 Charger Status

When the battery charger is connected to the
machine and the machine is activated, or if the
machine is activated while the battery charger is
connected, it should be detected by CCU.
CCU receives a +5 V signal via connector A:4
green lead if the charger is connected and the
machine activated. An orange lead with +5 V runs
from the connector in the machine for connecting
a battery charger to pin 3 and from pin 4, a green
lead runs to CCU connector A:4. In the connector
mounted on the battery charger is a strap between
receptacles 3 and 4. When the connector is
coupled to the machine, pins 3 and 4 are coupled
together with this strap.
This means that when the battery charger
connector is coupled to the machine connector,
CCU will see this +5 V on its input connector A:4.
When this is tested with CST, a battery charger
is connected to the machine and then it should
say: "Connected" after the text: "Charger status"
when the machine is activated and if the charger
is disconnected, it should say "Disconnected"
(connected = +5 V signal to CCU).

English –
If this does not work, a voltage reading must be
taken with a multimeter set to measure volt on
pin 3 in the machine's connector for coupling
a battery charger and the machine should be
activated. +5 V should then be seen on pin 4 in
the A connector in CCU. It is then possible to test
by connecting a short lead between pin 3 and
pin 4 is the connector and meanwhile see in the
test if an indication is obtained that the charger
is connected. If this works OK, the fault must be
sought in the connector mounted on the battery
charger cable. There should be a strap between
receptacles 3 and 4 inside it. If, during the test
above, it is not possible to detect a +5 V voltage in
the connector in the machine, the connector must
be opened to see if the orange cable is connected
and if so, the orange lead must be inspected to
see if there is a break. If +5 V OK but there is no
signal to CCU when strapping pins 3 and 4, check
the green lead running to connector A:4. The
green lead runs directly from the battery charge
connector to CCU connector A:4.
