Process Management

Process monitoring
The IPX-S300B process manager monitors the status of all processes at all times.
When a process is down, the process manager automatically restarts the process.
If the restarted process continues to terminate abnormally, the process manager does
not restart the process any more. This is because the process manager thinks that the
process would terminate abnormally again when restarted.

Process status
Each process of the IPX-S300B can be in any of the following status: NORMAL,
ALIVE, WAIT or FAIL.

Process level (priority)
The IPX-S300B categorizes its processes into Critical, Major, and Normal levels
depending on the impact on the system and applies different management policies
accordingly.

Starting and stopping individual processes
The IPX-S300B operator can stop a running process or start a stopped process.
Processes can be stopped or started using the [Performance > System Management
> Process Management] menu.
 Click the Activate button, select a stopped process, and click the Activate button
again to start the process.
 Click the Deactivate button, select a running process, and click the Deactivate
button again to stop the process.

Retrieving process version information
Each process of the IPX-S300B has information for its version, creation date and
creation time.
