8.2 Errors
The errors are listed in alphabetical order according to error designation and are described.
Error
Description
DEVICE_TYPE_IS_EMPTY
The DRIVE-CLiQ type of a device in the DRIVE-CLiQ topol‐
ogy is empty.
Note
If the device is not part of a topology, then this message is
not an error.
DEVICE_TYPE_IS_UNDEFINED
The DRIVE-CLiQ type of a device in the DRIVE-CLiQ topol‐
ogy has not been defined.
Note
If the device is not part of a topology, then this message is
considered to be a warning.
DRIVECLIQ_MULTIPLE_WIRING
Two devices have been connected several times to each oth‐
er in the DRIVE-CLiQ topology.
DRIVECLIQ_NO_MASTER_FOUND
A master module is missing in the DRIVE-CLiQ topology.
DRIVEOBJECT_FILE_IS_EMPTY
The file with the global drive objects is empty.
DRIVEOBJECT_FILE_IS_INVALID
The file with the global drive objects is damaged or corrupt
and therefore cannot be read.
ERR_MULTIPLE_ALLOCATION_AT_DriveCLiQ_PORT
A DRIVE-CLiQ port has either been assigned or connected
several times.
ERR_MULTIPLE_DriveCLiQ_MASTER
A DRIVE-CLiQ topology contains a number of master mod‐
ules (NCUs).
ERR_RING_TOPOLOGY
A DRIVE-CLiQ topology contains a ring connection.
EXCEPTION_READING_BOM_ENTRY
An unexpected exception has occurred while reading the
EPLAN data for a device.
EXCEPTION_READING_SYSTEMCONFIGURATION
The "SystemConfiguration.xml" file cannot be read.

Remedy
Define a valid DRIVE-CLiQ type.
Define a valid DRIVE-CLiQ type.
Delete one of the connections.
Connect a master module (NCU).
Provide either a valid file or no file.

● Remove a master module from the topology.
● Or split the topology into two topologies.
Break up the ring connection in the tree.
Please contact the Support with the listed exception.
The problem may not be able to resolved by the user.
● Check whether the rights for this file are available.
● Install the EPLAN Add-In again.
Note that the unknown devices must then be defined
again.
