CHECKING THE SPARK PLUG

NOTE:
Remove a mud and dust from the cylinder head
before removing the spark plug.
1. Inspect:
Electrode
Wear/Damage → Replace.
Dirt/Carbon deposit → Clean the spark plug
with a spark plug cleaner or wire brush.
Wear/Damage → Replace.
plug gap
Out of specification → Regap.
Spark plug gap
0.6∼0.7mm
CAUTION:
Do not run the kart with a plug gap larger
than the specified value.
NOTE:
When the engine runs for many hours at low
speeds, the spark plug insulator will become
sooty, even if the engine and carburetor are in
good operating condition.

TIGHTEN THE SPARK PLUG

CAUTION:
Do not tighten the spark plug with a plug wrench
from the start. It may damage the screw thread
in the cylinder head.
Finger-tighten
to specification
Spark plug
1.5∼2.5kg・m
NOTE:
Before installing the spark plug, clean the
gasket surface and plug surface.
Do not tighten the plug above the specified
torque.
