Restoring to initial state

This section describes how to restore the product to the initial state.
• The product should be restored to the initial state by the administrator, and should not
be left unattended until the work is finished.
• Before starting work to restore the product to the initial state, perform a backup (see
"Backing up data" on page 65 in this guide) as necessary. Restoring the product to the
initial state deletes all of the set information, including the user information and system
settings, as well as all job history. The backup file can be restored (see "Restoring data"
on page 67 in this guide) after initialization is finished.
Even if the product is restored to the initial state, the product's usage status data is not

deleted. See "Checking maintenance information" on page 71 in this guide for details on
the usage status.
There are two ways of restoring the product to the initial state as follows:
• Performing the operation on a PC
• Performing an operation with the product's control panel

Check that all jobs are finished.

Log in to EPSON Total Disc Net Administrator.
