    Selecting Channels Viewing Favorite Channels Passport DCT lets you specify favorite channels. You can do this in the Settings menu with the Favorite Channels preference. Once you specify favorite channels, you can cycle through them easily at the touch of one remote button. The procedure below describes how you do this.     From the program guide, you can select programs to watch or purchase. You can also set a timer for a future program, so that Passport DCT notifies you with an alert message that the program is about to start. Additionally, you can purchase PPV programming and set a VCR timer.

    • Event timers: When set, Passport DCT reminds you one minute before the program starts. Additionally, it automatically turns to the channel when your program starts. • VCR timer: If you want to record the program, Passport DCT reminds you one minute before and then records the program using the VCR Controller.

    Setting Settop Audio Setting the Volume Level Passport DCT allows you to set the cable settop’s volume to variable or to a fixed level (approximately 68-69% of the maximum volume) which is the optimum settop audio output level. If you set the volume to a fixed level and press the + or - VOL button, the volume level is automatically set to variable from then on.

    The settop has an AC outlet on its rear panel. You can plug the TV power cord into this outlet, so that the outlet powers the TV . This allows you to set up Passport DCT so that when you turn off the settop, the TV shuts off automatically as well.

    • Changing the PIN, page 119 About Parental Control Passport DCT provides parental control so that you can restrict viewing of certain channels, ratings, titles and time periods. For example, you would use parental control if you are a parent and do not want your children to be able to watch certain channels or programs with mature content, or if you want to restrict TV watching at certain times, like late in the evening.
