- Page 5 How to set up your new HITACHI Projection Television ANTENNA Unless your TV is connected to a cable TV system or to a centralized antenna system, a good outdoor TV antenna is recommended for best performance. However, if you are located in an exceptionally good signal area that is free from interference and multiple image ghosts, an indoor antenna may be sufficient.

For best performance, video cables should use 75-Ohm coaxial shielded wire. Cables can be purchased from most stores that sell audio/video products. This Tuner feature allows you to view antenna input on the main picture and a Video Input on sub-picture simultaneously. When an ANALOG channel or INPUT is viewed as the main picture, an ANALOG channel or INPUT can not be viewed as a sub picture.

On-Screen Display 1. Press MENU on the remote control to display the different features on your HITACHI Projection TV. 2. Press the CURSOR buttons to navigate and highlight a different feature of the On-Screen Display menu. Press the SELECT button to select. - Page 33 On-Screen Display Video Picture Mode Select between the two picture modes; Day and Night. Contrast Adjust contrast. Brightness Adjust brightness. Color Adjust color. Tint Adjust tint. Sharpness Adjust sharpness. Color Temperature Set this to High for less intense color with more blue, set to Medium for natural color, set to Standard for standard colors.

You can independently customize each of the Video Inputs to your preference to increase viewing performance and pleasure depending upon the video program being viewed. If RESET is selected, only the selected input will reset to initial conditions.

To simplify convergence, HITACHI incorporates a function called MAGIC FOCUS located on the front control panel, which allows the TV to self-adjust. Press this MAGIC FOCUS button and the convergence self adjustment will start and this process will take approximately 20 seconds. - Page 54 Setup NOTE: 1. Only a momentary press of the MAGIC FOCUS button is necessary to start AUTO DIGITAL CONVERGENCE. At any time during this convergence correction process, you may press the MAGIC FOCUS button to exit the MAGIC FOCUS mode. However, the convergence correction process needs to be completed to SAVE the new corrected convergence data.
