firm that the total horsepower of your mo-
tor(s) does not exceed the boats maximum
horsepower rating. See the boat's capacity
plate or contact the manufacturer.

If the engine ever starts in gear, the

start-in-gear protection device is not
working correctly and you should dis-
continue using the outboard. Contact
your Yamaha dealer.
The remote control unit must be equipped
with a start-in-gear protection device(s). This
device prevents the engine from starting un-
less it is in neutral.
