Troubleshooting

Often setup mistakes and simple errors are misinterpreted as hardware failures. The following
chart provides solutions to common errors or problems. If the error remains after taking the
appropriate steps, repeat the actions.

Buzzer sounds when inserting a
disc magazine

Remove the magazine and check for
any protruding discs

Open the access door and check
for anything blocking the optical
sensor
Remove the discs and restart
Turn the lock-release key to the
UNLOCK position
Try again after making sure that the
ROBOTICS BUSY indicator is OFF
Check with the System Administrator
for prohibitions
Press the ESC button to halt the
swap disc or add disc operation
Remove the disc from the tray
Turn Hot Start OFF and turn the
power OFF then back ON (when the
discs are returned, enter the Door
submode and open the door)
Clear the area around the access
door and try to open the door again
Return to User submode, issue a
REZERO command from the host
computer to return all discs from the
drives and repeat the command when
all discs have returned to their slots
