    STARTING THE ENGINE Recoil Starter Donot pull the starterhandlewhiletheengine running. Alwayskeephandsand feetclear of movingparts.Do notuse a pressurizedstartingfluid. Vaporsare flammable. Movethrottlecontrolto FAST(rabbit)_1_ position. Movechoketo the CHOKEI,,a¢lpositionSr'(cold engine start).     Locatethe openingbetweenthe axle supportbracketand thefront frame support(See Figure28). Lookingthroughthis opening,with the wheeldrivecontrol released,theremustbe clearancebetweenthefrictionwheeland the driveplatein all positionsof the shift lever. Withthe wheeldrivecontrolengaged,the frictionwheelmust contactthedrive plate.See Figure28. If there is no frictionwheelclearance,or the frictionwheeldoes not solidlycontactthe driveplate, re-adjustthe lock nuton the lowerend of thedrive cablefollowingthe instructionsin the Assemblysection.
