5. Gently push down on the new processor until it is fully seated.
6. Rotate the retaining latches to seat the processor firmly into the slot.
7. If installing more processor modules, repeat Steps 1–6 for each new
processor module.
8. Close the access covers to the processor slots and tighten the thumbscrews.
See Figure 1-4.

Installing the VRM

1. Select the correct slot for the VRM and align it with the respective slot.
NOTE
The component side of the VRM will face down toward the
system board.
CAUTION Do not touch the VRM components as you push it into its slot.
Use the edges of the VRM board to insert it into the slot.
2. Gently insert the VRM into the desired slot. See Figure 1-8.
