Connecting Fibre Channel cables in a multipath configuration

Figure 6 shows the Fibre Channel cable connections of an MSA1500 being accessed by two servers
in a multipath configuration. For consistency, cabling should be done like this for active/passive
and active/active configurations.
NOTE: Multipath configurations must include:
• Two MSA controllers
• Two MSA Fibre Channel I/O modules
• Two Fibre Channel switches
• Two servers, each with two HBAs

Connect the first Fibre Channel HBA that is initialized during the POST to the active Fibre Channel
interconnect switch (that is, the Fibre Channel SAN switch that is connected to the MSA1500 active
controller—in other words, the controller on the right as you look at the MSA1500 from the front).
