Keyboard Type
Lets you select the desired keyboard format. U.S.A. is the default.

Typematic Delay
Sets the time delay between the moment a key is pressed and the time the charac-
ter appears on screen. The default is 500 milliseconds (ms).

Typematic Rate
Sets the number of characters that appear on-screen if a key remains pressed for a
second. The default is 10 characters per second (cps).
Power
The Power drop-down menu lets you balance system performance and energy conservation,
for both battery and AC operation, using the following parameters.

Maximum Battery life
Sets power savings to a maximum and system performance to a minimum, by
running the CPU at half speed all of the time.

Good Battery life
Provides good power savings and moderate system performance, by reducing
CPU clock speed to one-half of its maximum speed any time the CPU is not en-
gaged for one-half a second.
