GENERAL
To Charge the Battery Pack NP-500
Charging by Attaching the Battery Pack to This Unit

— To quickly charge
1 Connect the power cord to a wal! outlet.
The POWER
lamp (green) will tight.
2 Install the battery pack.

Align the end surface of the battery pack shown by the » mark to the edge of the terminal shutter
of this unit, then fit and slide the battery pack in the direction of the arrow.
The CHARGE
iamps (orange) will fiash or light and charging wiil bigin.
When the charging is completed, the CHARGE
lamps go out. Remove the battery pack when
required. Stopping charging before it is completed is also allowed.

To remove the battery pack
Slide the battery pack in the direction opposite to the arrow.
CHARGE lamps and charging time
Three CHARGE
tamps show the process of charging. The rejationships between the status of the
CHARGE lamps and charging time are as follows.

After the three CHARGE
iamps lit, the lamps will go out about one hour later.
« To ascertain the battery life, refer to the instruction manual! of the video equipment which you use.
¢ The charging time in the above table may differ depending on the condition of the battery pack or
the termperature of the environment.
e When a fully charged battery pack is installed, the CHARGE
lamps will once light, then go out.
* Charging Is not performed during operation of the video equipment. If you operate the video
equipment during charging, the charging will stop and the CHARGE
lamps will go out.
* Keep the AC power adaptor away from video equipment if video operation is disturbed.
When the Three CHARGE
Lamps Flash Simultaneously
Check through the following chart.
Remove the battery pack from the AC power adaptor. Then, install the same
battery pack again.
When the CHARGE lamps ftash .
When the CHARGE lamps do not flash again:
The problem ts with the AC
Bowel adamier.
1 hour, the problem ts with the battery pack first instalted.

Charging the Battery Pack in the Video Equipment

— To use anytime you need
Set the battery pack into the video equipment. For detailed information, refer to the instruction manual
of the video equipment which you use.
Use the supplied connecting cord.
1 Connect the power cord to a wall outlet.
The POWER lamp (green) will light.
2 Connect the connecting cord to the DC OUT connector of this unit.
3 Connect the connecting plate to the video equipment.
While the power of the video equipment is off, the battery pack tn the video equipment Is charged. In
this case, the VTR/CAMERA
Samp does not light.
* Charging of the battery pack in the video equipment will be stopped during operation of the video
equipment.
¢ When another batter pack Is attached to this unit, charging of the battery pack In the video
equipment wil! be stopped, and restarted after completion of the charging of the battery pack which
is attached to this unit.
¢ When the charging of the battery pack attached to this unit is completed or a video equipment is
connected to this unit, the VTR/CAMERA
!amp may light for a moment.
To Operate Video Equipment
see illustration 8.
Use the supplied connecting cord.
4 Connect the power cord to & wall outlet.
The POWER
lamp {green} wil! light.
2 Connect the connecting cord to the DC OUT connector of this unit.
3 Connect the connecting plate to the video equipment.
The VTR/ICAMERA lamp (orange) will light during operation of the video equipment.
