SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
1. This manual
contains
important
safety and operating
instructions for rapid charger MODEL BC-15.
2. Before
using
the
BC-15,
read
all instructions
and
cautionary
markings
on
the
BC-15,
battery,
and
product using battery.
3.CAUTION
To reduce risk of injury, charge only Nickel Cadmium
type
rechargeable
batteries
PB-13
and
PB-14.
Other
types of batteries
may burst causing
personal
injury
and damage.

. Do not expose the BC-15 to rain or snow.
. Use of an attachment
not recommended
or sold by
KENWOOD
may result in a risk of fire, electric shock,
or injury to persons.
6. To reduce
risk of damage to electric plug and cord,
pull
by plug
rather
than
cord
when
disconnecting
charger.
7. Make
sure
cord
is located
so that it will not be
stepped
on, tripped
over,
or otherwise
subjected
to
damage or stress.
8. An
extension
cord
should
not
be
used _ unless
absolutely
necessary.
Use
of
improper
extension
cord could result in a risk of fire and electric shock.
lf extension cord must be used, make sure;
a. That pins on piug of extension
cord are the same
number,
size,
and
shape
as
those
of
plug
on
charger;
b. That extension
cord is properly wired and in good
electrical condition; and
c. That wire size is large enough for the BC-15.
For cord
length within 100 feet or less, the wire
size should be not less than 18 AWG.
For cord length within 150 feet or less, the wire
size should be not less than 16 AWG.
9. Do
not
operate
the
BC-15
with
damaged
cord
or
plug-replace them immediately.
10. Do not operate the BC-15 if it has received a sharp
blow,
been
dropped,
or otherwise
damaged
in any
way; take it to a qualified serviceman.
11. Do not disassemble the BC-15; take it to a qualified
serviceman
when
service
or
repair
is
required.
Incorrect reassembly
may result in a risk of electric
shock or fire.
12. To reduce
risk of electric shock,
unplug
the BC-15
from
outlet
before
attempting
any
maintenance
or
cleaning.
Turning
off controls
will
not
reduce
this
risk.

CAUTIONS
1. To
prevent
damage
to the
battery
and / or
poor
charge
performance,
turn
the
transceivers
power
switch
off before
attempting
to charge
the battery
while it is attached to the transceiver.
2. Place
the
charger
as
far
away
from
any
indoor
antennas
as possible, to reduce
the chance
of any
interference.

MH OPERATING CONTROLS
Terminal for charging PB-13.
@ Terminal for charging PB-14.
@) INDICATOR
RED
: This indicator
is RED when
the battery is
charging.
GREEN
: This
indicator
is
GREEN
when
charging
has been completed.
@) DC IN terminal
This terminal
is used
for an external
power
supply.
Input voltage is 13.8 V DC nominal (MAX 3A).
The center is the + side and the sleeve is — side.
Connect
the BC-15
to the external
power
supply by
using the optional (PG-2W) DC cord.
(©) AC ADAPTER terminal
This terminal is used for an AC adapter.

INSTRUCTIONS
CHARGING
1. Plug the AC cord into an AC outlet.
2. Interconnect
the
DC
plug
to
the
AC
ADAPTER
terminal.
3. (1) Charging
with
the
battery
attached
to
the
transceiver.
Turn the transceiver's power switch off.
Inserting the transceiver into the charger.
