m@ How to Use WIPE Function
@To wipe the picture in and out.
The picture on the screen can be replaced with the required background colour in
a variety of patterns using the wipe function.
<Preparations>
Perform the operations in 'Before operating' steps [1] — [3] on page 10 to play
back the VCR-1 deck used for playback.
[1] Press the WIPE PATTERN button, and select the required pattern.
With the 5WIPE PATTERN buttons ( {os/ao/as[es[]
), any of four patterns
except for circle wipe ((2J) can be used in any combination, making possible
16 wipe patterns.
[2] Use the BACK COLOR
knob to select any of eight background colours (white,
yellow, cyan, green, magenta, red, blue, black) or a colour bar chart.
[3] Press the WIPE button.
[4] Slide down the WIPE controller to wipe the picture out and slide up it to wipe
the picture in.

Notes on use of WIPE function:
eWhen
a picture without a colour signal (such as that froma
monochrome
(B/W) video camera) is used, the background
colour selected will not appear.
e@When the quality of the input video signa! is poor, the back-
ground colour may be modified slightly, noise may increase or

wiping may not be done cleanly. Also refer to "Cautions on
editing" on page 12.
@When the wipe pattern is changed or the playback VCR is
set to the still mode during wiping, the wipe pattern may
fluctuate or the picture may be distorted.
