    If any parts are damaged or missing, contact your nearest Sears Retail Store to obtain replacement parts before attempting to operate router. A 1/4 in. collet assembly, 7/8 in. wrench, and Owner's Manual are included in the box.

    The 1/2 in. collet is machined to precision tolerances to fit cutters with 1/2 in. diameter shanks. A 1/4 in. collet assembly has also been provided with your router so that cutters with 1/4 in. shank bits can be used. See Figure 4. TO UNLOCK SPINDLE Fig.

    • Place spindle lock back in unlock position. Otherwise, interlocking mechanism of spindle lock will not let you turn your router on. To unlock spindle, (!) push spindle lock in, (2) slide into unlock position, then (3) release spindle lock.

    ROUTING See Figure 9. For ease of operation and maintaining proper control, your router has two handles, one on each side of the router base. When using your router hold it firmly with both hands as shown in figure 9.

  • Page 12 2ND PASS DIRECTION OF FEED AND THRUST The router motor 8rid bit revolve in a clockwise direction. This gives the tool a slight tendency to twist (in your hands) in a counterclockwise direction, especially when the motor revs up (as at starting).

Turn router on and let motor build to its full speed. Gradually feed cutter into workpiece until subbase is level with workpiece.
