Lithium Ion Battery and Charger

9.1. Features of the Lithium Ion Battery (ESB1)

• Has a higher energy capacity compared to the nickel metal hydride battery.
• Equipped with Battery Management Control System (BMC). (built-in microprocessor) This is a system
that uses a computer to track charge/discharge status, operating conditions, and temperature.
• Even with repeated shallow discharge/charge cycles, it is difficult for the memory effect to occur. There-
fore, refresh charging is not necessary, and its charges can be replenished additively.
• Battery does not contain mercury or cadmium.

• Compact but high capacity. (Capacity: 25 V × 11.8 Ah)
