Creating Device Files
Before creating normal device files, you must verify whether the device files already exist.
To verify if the device files exist, enter the following command at the command prompt:
#ioscan -kfnC tty
The following output is displayed if the device files exist:
If the device files are not created, you must create the device files.
To create the device files, complete the following steps:
Step 1. Create normal device files by entering the following command at the command prompt:
#insf -e -d pci_mux1 -H <hw_path>
Step 2. Create the special device file by entering the following command at the command prompt:
#mksf -v -d pci_mux1 -H <hw_path> -a <access-mode> -p <port number>
For example:
#mksf -v -d pci_mux1 -H 0/6/1/0 -a2 -pa3
