executed. Make sure that the access to a memory card is finished before pulling it
out or turning off the power switch.
Be careful with the laser outputs on optical network
interfaces. The board with the label below shows that a laser
is used in it. As the amount of its emission is small, there is
no risk of damaging your skin. Still, never look into the
output directly. There is nothing to see inside.
Wear a wrist strap to prevent static electricity. Without a wrist strap, the device
might be damaged due to static electricity.
Do not over tighten the attachment screws when connecting a cable to the router.
Over tightening the screws could cause them to break. Use only a small,
flat-blade screwdriver to tighten the screws so as not to exert excessive torque on
the screws.
Be careful how you handle the NIFs, cryptographic accelerators and basic control
modules (BCU). Do not touch the components attached to them or the soldered
area. Also, place NIFs in anti-static packages to protect them from physical
damage.
Make sure that you have either a NIF in, or dummy panel installed over, an
option slot. If not, air may not circulate correctly inside the router.
For the installation of a network interface board, use a screw driver when
fastening screws and make sure that the screws are fixed firmly, but do not
overtighten.
Take care so that the fan cables, etc. are not snagged or crushed inside the router
when replacing the cover.
Clean the device only with a clean, dry cloth or use a cloth that has been
dampened (not wet) with water or another pH-neutral liquid. Do not use volatile
organic solutions such as benzene or paint thinner, chemicals, chemically
treated cloths or pesticides, which may deform, discolor or damage the router.
Do not place the router in direct sunlight or
near heat sources that may cause damage.
If the router is placed together with a radio
or a TV, they might affect each other in an
unfavorable way. If you hear the burst of
noise on a TV or a radio, do the following:
Place the device as far away from a TV or a
radio as possible.
Turn the antenna of a TV or a radio to
another direction.
Do not use the same outlet as the router.
Unplug the power cable from the outlet when the router is not used for long
periods.
Dispose of exhausted devices or boards, including lithium batteries, as required
by local regulations.
For your safety, do not carelessly put your hands into the device. If you do, you
could get injured from touching internal components.
Leave the device powered off for more than 2 seconds before powering it on again.
Handle the device carefully, complying with the instructions written on the
"CAUTION" label on the device.
