Requirements
Kenwood AUX ready radio
Introduction
Just because you own an older radio does not mean you have to settle for old
technology. The IL-KNW allows users to connect and play their IOS device on
select Kenwood AUX ready radios. The IL-KNW adapter updates 1999-Up Kenwood
Aux ready radios to play and charge Apple IOS devices including iPods, iPhones
and Tablets. Installing this adapter requires sacrificing the Kenwood CD changer
or any other Kenwood accessory, but with the storage capacity of these new
devices sacrificing the CD changer should be an easy decision.
Installation
Remove radio from dashboard to gain access to the connector.

With radio removed disconnect any accessory connected to 13-pin port (See

Fig. 1)
Warning: Disconnected device will no longer function. Kenwood KCA-S220A
switcher required for Kenwood radios to support two simultaneous
connections.
Radio socket/adapter plug
Connect adapter 13-pin plug to Kenwood radio (See. Fig.1)

Run IOS lightning cable (See Fig. 2) to desired mounting location on

dashboard, glove box, console etc. within 5 ft. of radio. Use caution to
not cut, pinch or crimp the cable during this step.
Securely install cable in a location away from heat, humidity, moving
