Enabling the infrared port
Before you use your infrared port to transfer files or to print to an infrared printer, you must
enable the infrared port in the BIOS. Follow these steps to use either the standard infrared driver
or the enhanced driver.
1. Reboot your computer.
2. When you see the HP logo, press F2.
3. Select Advanced.
4. Set IrDA port setting to Enabled.
5. Set Mode to FIR.
6. If DMA channel conflicts with Parallel port DMA channel, change Parallel port Mode to EPP.
7. Select F10 to save the changed values and continue reboot.
8. Adjust the infrared transceiver value.
a. Click Start, Settings, Control Panel, Network.
b. On the Configuration tab, select NSC-PC87338 Fast Infrared Port and click Properties.
c. Select the Advanced tab.
d. Under Property select Infrared Transceiver A, under Value select HP-HSDL-2300, and
click OK twice.
e. Reboot the computer again.
