    Lytemode System Overview The Lytemode System is designed to control architectural lighting by distributing both power and intelligence. The system provides processing power and control at each respective Master or Remote Station, eliminating the need for a central processor. Lytemode Master Stations provide individual control for up to 16 channels, 13 scenes plus “Off”, and adjustable fade times.

    Room Combine Switch Overview The Lytemode Room Combine Switch provides easy partition control of meeting rooms, banquet halls, and other large partitioned spaces. When partitions are open, the Room Combine Switch links the Master Stations in each room so that adjustments to one Master Station are duplicated on all linked Master Stations, maintaining a uniform look throughout the expanded space.

    Installation The Lytemode ILS Network consists of a single CAT5e cable connecting all ILS modules in a daisy chain manner. All units connect to the network using a 9-pin connector (included). To install: Step 1. Unpack unit and inspect for any signs of shipping damage. Ensure that two mounting screws are included.

    Setting ILS Network ID Lytemode products are controlled by the Intelligent Lytemode System (ILS) protocol. All Lytemode ILS devices must be given an ID (or address), which identifies the device on the network and allows it to avoid network collisions when transmitting data. Standard IDs are in the range of 1 to 255.

    Setup This section describes how to program the unit’s Mode, Address, LED Brightness, and display the unit’s Version. Mode The unit can be set to function in one of several Modes as follows: Step 1. Press and hold D and E for 3 seconds. A LED will blink rapidly.

    ID Address Because there are not enough buttons/LEDs to address the full 0-255 ID range, the ID must be entered in two stages. The three most significant ID bits are entered first, followed by the five least significant ID bits. Step 1.

    While in the Addressing Mode, the device will transmit a Network Test Command every 2 seconds (ON/A LED will blink). All devices on the network will blink an LED to indicate their reception of this command. If a receiving device matches the transmitted ID, it will blink all of its LEDs.

    Display Version The software version can be displayed as follows: Step 1. Press and hold G and H for 3 or more seconds. The Version is displayed in binary format on B-H. Step 2. Add up values for each illuminated LED and then add 1.00.

    Operation Setting Combine IDs (Method 1) Each of the 8/16 buttons can be programmed to combine two rooms (or IDs) when the button’s LED is turned On. To program the two IDs into each button, do the following: Step 1. Press and hold A and H buttons for 3 seconds (Mode 3 unit).

    Troubleshooting In order to determine if all Lytemode ILS Network devices are communicating, a network test signal can be sent by placing the device in the Addressing Mode. While in this mode, the device will transmit a Network Test Command every 2 seconds (ON/A LED will blink).
