6. Connect the SAS cable between the controller and the SAS backplane or any other SATA or
SAS device (if applicable).
The preceding figure shows the location of the controller connector. The controller connects to an
internal device through an internal x4 mini-SAS HD connector (SFF-8643). If you use other cables,
ensure that they conform to the controller specifications as described in the controller user's guide.
7. Install the server cover, connect the power cords, and turn on the server.
