Emptying the ACS 511

!
When repairing internal components, we recommend
extracting the internal hoses on the ACS 511 to
ensure that no refrigerant can escape when the hose
lines are opened.
i
This extraction is carried out by automatic emptying
or, if there is a technical defect, by using a second
A/C service unit.
Warning – Risk of frostbite from escaping
refrigerant
Refrigerant causes severe frostbite on the
skin.
Check the service hoses for damage.
Firmly connect the service quick-release
couplings to the service hoses.
Wear safety goggles.
Wear protective gloves.
10.1

Automatic emptying

i
Refrigerant in the internal hoses is extracted into the
internal refrigerant cylinder.
1. Service hoses (T1, T2) are not connected to the
vehicle.
2. Close service quick-release couplings.
3. Open HP and LP valves on the ACS 511.
4. Start recovery.
"
Automatic emptying is performed.

Extraction of internal refrigerant cir-
cuit with second A/C service unit
i
If recovery cannot be performed due to a defective
compressor, a second A/C service unit or an external
compressor is required to remove the refrigerant
from the internal refrigerant circuit. To do this, start
the "Recycle" function to open the corresponding
solenoid valves.
i
The compressor power supply for the ACS 511 must
be disconnected before extraction.
1. Close shutoff valves V1, V3, V2, and V4 on the re-
frigerant cylinder and disconnect the blue and red
hoses from the refrigerant cylinder.
2. Connect the blue hose to the low pressure side of
the second A/C service unit.
3. Connect the red hose to the high pressure side of
the second A/C service unit.
4. Open the valves V1 and V2.
5. Open both valves on the second A/C service unit and
recover the refrigerant from the first, defective A/C
service unit.
 A pressure increase test is performed at the end
of recovery.
6. Close the two valves on the second A/C service
unit and disconnect the hoses from the refrigerant
cylinder.

Repairs can be performed.
