BOUT THIS GUIDE This guide defines Experion Platforms based on the Honeywell-configured Dell Precision T5820XL workstation, which uses a Quad-Core Intel Xeon processor in a single processor configuration. The configuration rules defined in this document apply to the Experion deskside/tower configuration, the Icon Series console, the Z console and the EZ console.

Workstation configuration Introduction Platforms sold by Honeywell are engineered for the process control mission of Experion systems to provide consistent, robust performance. Through an extensive qualification process, Honeywell defines specific peripheral devices, slot locations, and BIOS settings for best performance and reliability, sometimes even adding cooling fans for longer service.

2.3.2 Removable media specifications The Honeywell Configured DELL T5820XL workstation has four 3.5-inch bay. The system is configured with one (1) removable media drive this drive is a SATA CD-RW/DVD±RW combo drive. The SATA CD-RW/DVD±RW drive is connected to a SATA 1 port connector on the motherboard.
Ethernet. Memory configuration 16GB (2x8GB) is the standard installed memory for TAB-100 model system, and Honeywell does not recommend increasing the system memory beyond base memory configuration. The following table provides the memory expansion model and its description. The model MZ- PCEM44 is used in the failure replacement scenario.

Installation tasks The specific tasks you need to perform vary depending upon the type of furniture in which you are installing the workstation.
Chapter 3 - Installing Power and grounding requirements The ground connection for Workstation-based nodes is made through the third wire in the AC power cord. AC Power warning Selecting the correct power setting 3.2.1 AC Power warning ATTENTION The power supply circuit is connected to AC power when the power cable is connected. The power control switch on the front panel only enables the power supply circuit outputs.
Chapter 3 - Installing 3. Remove the adhesive from the air gasket (“L” shaped foam) and place it on top of the workstation as shown in the following “Air flow and air dam arrangement” figure. The adhesive keeps the gasket in place. The gasket stops the exhaust air from re-circulating around the workstation.

Chapter 3 - Installing NOTE A Local Control Network Processor (LCNP) board and LCN Media Access Unit (MAU) are no longer used if the Workstation has been upgraded to be an ELCN node. 1. Connect the USB mouse and USB keyboard extension cables to the USB connectors. You can skip this step if you are not using the USB mouse and keyboard.
Honeywell Z or EZ-console. The workstation is shipped from the Honeywell factory, packaged in the OEM shipping carton of the manufacturer. This procedure assumes that a new Z or EZ console is shipped from the Honeywell factory with workstation hardware pre-installed.

The following illustrates a Dell T5820XL-based workstation installed in the Z-console module mounting brackets. You can slide the workstation chassis in place between the four (4) ribbon cable clamps.

Slide the workstation into the furniture bay until the distance between the rear edge of the workstation and the vertical return flange on the rear cover retaining bracket is approximately 127 mm [5”]. The following image illustrates the two retaining brackets, P/N 51405059-100, installed to position the rear surface of the workstation.

Chapter 3 - Installing 6. Install the left retaining bracket over the lower edge of the side mounting rail as displayed in the figure. Make sure the distance between the back panel of the workstation and the lip of the rear cover retaining bracket is five (5) inches as illustrated in the previous image. 7.

Chapter 3 - Installing 9. Refer to the section Connecting cables to the workstation. After connecting all cables, perform the following step to replace the rear cover. 10. As illustrated in the following images, slide the card file enclosure (P/N 51403117-100) into position and replace the rear cover (P/N 51405058-100) by engaging and tightening the two self-captivated panel fasteners.
11. Start the workstation. Installing workstation in LCN cabinet This section provides instructions for installing the Dell Precision T5820XL workstation in a Rittal- based LCN cabinet (MP-C8LCB1 or MP-C1MCB1). A Honeywell “fixed” rail mounting kit (TP- WPCMF1) or a “slide” rail mounting kit (TP-WPCMS1) is installed in the Rittal-based LCN cabinet.

Chapter 3 - Installing 4. Insert the side spacer assembly between the side mounting bracket and the workstation chassis. The following image illustrates the side spacer assembly. 5. Ensure you insert the side spacer assembly on both sides of the workstation. 6.
Chapter 3 - Installing 7. Replace both the left and right front retaining brackets. Position the stop peg covered with Vinyl cap such that it is in contact with the front bezel on the left side and the front bezel handle on the right side.

Chapter 3 - Installing 3. Remove the plastic film release liners from the four (4) black anti-skid pads in the corners of the mounting tray. This exposes a “tacky” surface that helps prevent the workstation from sliding. 4. Place the workstation on the mounting tray such that the front edge of the workstation bezel is flush with the front surface of the mounting tray and centered side-to-side.

Chapter 3 - Installing 5. Position the rear retainer bracket such that it makes contact with the back surface of the workstation. Tighten the M5 hex nut to lock it in place. 6. Using the tray handle, push the tray to the fully closed position, when the slide tray hits its rear stops.

Chapter 4 - Operation To configure RAID 1 in Dell Precision T5820XL workstation 1. Turn on the workstation. 2. Press F2 on the keyboard to enter the system BIOS. 3. In System Configuration menu, select SATA Operation. 4. Using the ARROW keys changes SATA Controller Mode to RAID On.
Processor card model no. TP-LCNP05. This card provides the communication path for the T5820XL to other LCN modules. The TP-LCNP05 consists of a PCI Express 3.3 Volt LCNP4e2 full height and half length size card, a MAU cable and the LCN MAU (Media Access Unit).
Chapter 4 - Operation 4.2.4 MAU connection Connect the MAU to both Cable A and Cable B coax T-connector as illustrated in the following Figure. Chapter 5 - Servicing 1. Remove the side cover of the workstation. 2. Press the blue color notch and push the cardholder back as illustrated in the following image. 3. Wear a grounded ESD wrist strap, grasp the LCNP4e2 card in PCIe slot 3 at the corners and gently remove the existing card.
