• Tightening torque for flared pipe connection
The pressure for R410A is 1.6 times higher than R22.
Therefore, use a torque wrench when tightening the flared
pipes on the indoor and outdoor units, and tighten them to
the specified torque.
A defective connection may result in gas leaks as well as
malfunction of the cooling cycle.
NOTE
If you apply too much torque, you may break the nut,
depending on the installation conditions.
 Heat insulating process
Apply insulation separately to both the liquid side pipes and
the gas side pipes.
• Always use an insulation material with over 120 °C heat
resistance for gas side pipes.
• Use the heat insulating pipe provided with the indoor unit
and the elbow piping kit to heat insulator the pipe fittings
and do not leave any gaps when applying the insulation.
NOTE
Apply the insulation all the way to the base of the pipe
connections on the indoor unit and be sure none of the piping
is exposed.
(Exposed pipes may cause water leaks.)
Attach the slit of heat
insulating pipe to ceiling side.
(Cut at 120 mm)
Fasten it with
vinyl tape
Butt the insulated piping against the side of the indoor unit.
See the installation manual provided with the indoor unit
and the elbow piping kit regarding application of insulation
and connection of refrigerant pipes after the indoor unit is
hung.
