Make sure that the disc is normal, and set the CD TEST MODE (STEP 1).
Is the measured voltage as specified in circuit diagram?
Yes
Is "Er-CD01" displayed"?
Yes
Move the pickup to most internal circumference side of disc.
Turn the power off and reset the CD TEST MODE (STEP 1).
Is "PU ERROR " not displayed?
Yes
Is +5V applied to pin 100 (/RST) of IC802?
Yes
Does the CD TEST MODE advance from "STEP 2"?
Yes
Does the laser come on in CD TEST MODE "STEP 2"?
Yes
Does the CD TEST MODE advance from "STEP 3" to "STEP
4"?
Yes
Does the spindle motor rotate normally when the CD TEST
MODE changes from "STEP 4" to "STEP 3"?
Yes
Is the HF output on pin 38 of IC802 in CD TEST MODE "STEP 5"?
Yes
Does the sound heard when the optical pickup move to the
selected play by the FF/REW key.
Yes
Does the LCD track number and time indicator work properly ?

Turn the power off and then back on.
Does the unit initialize properly and start playback when PLAY
key is pressed?

Check the pattern between pin 57 (PUIN) of IC701 and BI803/

Is CD Lid switch SW701
ON condition ?
Yes
Check the between pattern IC701 and SW701 If OK.
Check the main unit power supply circuit.
Check the procedure in "LASER FAILURE".
Check the procedure in "FOCUS FAILURE".
Check the procedure in "SPINDLE MOTOR CLV SERVO
FAILURE".
Check the procedure "HF ERROR".
Does the sled motor
move ?
Yes
Check the procedure "NO SOUND"
Check the pattern between IC701 and LCD701.
Is "Er-CD01 "
No
displayed ?
Yes
Check the pattern between pin 57 (PUIN) of IC701 and
BI803/CNS803.
Check the between BI803/CNS803 and PU-IN switch.
Check the procedure in "HF ERROR".
Check the procedure in "TRACK SEARCH FAILURE".
Check the procedure in "SLED SERVO FAILURE".
