Starter/Generator Removal
1. Make sure the key switch OFF and the Forward/Reverse handle in NEUTRAL. Chock the wheels.
2. Disconnect the battery cables as instructed (Figure 12-1, Page 12-1). See WARNING "To avoid unin-
tentionally starting..." in General Warning, Section 1, Page 1-1.
3. Disconnect the wires from the starter/generator (1). Mark wires before disconnecting. Loosen the pivot
nuts (7) and bolts (5) (Figure 12-2, Page 12-2).
4. Remove the mounting/adjustment nut (12), lock washer (9) and bolt (11). Lower the starter/generator
and slip the belt (4) off the pulley (10).
5. Support the starter/generator so that when the pivot bolts are removed the starter/generator will not fall
to the ground. Remove the two pivot nuts (7) and bolts (5) from the mounting bracket.
6. Remove the starter/generator.
