On a sloping or peaked ceiling, install a smoke alarm 1.
within 24 inches of the peak (measured vertically). If this
height is less than 24 inches the ceiling is regarded as
being flat.
Smoke Alarms should face out in this position:
Smoke Alarm (front)
Wall behind alarm
