10.6.1. Safety

DANGER
Before starting to work on the drive, make sure:
-
Main and auxiliary power supply to the drive are switched off, locked
out, and tagged out,
-
Drive is de-energized
-
Grounding connections are in place
-
Personal protective equipment is provided and used when required
-
Everyone involved is informed
Before energizing the drive again, make sure:
-
All foreign objects are removed from the drive
-
All internal and external covers are securely fastened and all doors are
closed, locked and / or secured (locking bar in locked position)
-
Release dials of safety switches are in locked position
-
When maintenance on the drive is carried out, such as changing of
semiconductors, grounding equipment must be connected at the
appropriate locations.
The grounding equipment ensures that hazardous voltages cannot be
fed into the drive, from the main power supply or the motor.
