This document describes the diagnostic tests that you can perform, troubleshooting procedures, and explanations of error messages and error codes. The documentation that comes with your operating system and software also contains troubleshooting information.

CAUTION Some cluster solutions require specific code levels or coordinated code updates. If the device is part of a cluster solution, verify that the latest level of code is supported for the cluster solution before you update the code.

    If you have completed the diagnostic procedure and the problem remains, the problem might not have been previously identified by HUAWEI. After you have verified that all code is at the latest level, all hardware and software configurations are valid, and no light path diagnostics LEDs or log entries indicate a hardware component failure, contact HUAWEI or an approved warranty service provider for assistance.

    Hard disk drive status LED: On some server models, each hot-swap hard disk drive has a status LED. When this LED is lit, it indicates that the drive has failed. If an optional HUAWEI ServeRAID controller is installed in the server, when this LED is flashing slowly (one flash per second), it indicates that the drive is being rebuilt.

    To recover the server firmware and restore the server operation to the primary bank, complete the following steps: Boot the server to an operating system that is supported by the HUAWEI Flash UEFI Update package that you downloaded. Install the HUAWEI Flash UEFI Update package, following the instructions in the readme file that comes with the update package.
