Notes
• Check Peer to Peer on
only one computer to
establish the wireless
LAN.
• If other Access Points
are present in close
proximity and
problems occur, try
another channel.

Enter the same Access
Point ID and Encryption
Key on all computers on
the same wireless LAN.

• It takes some time for
the Peer to Peer mode
to effect.
Clicking OK causes
Windows to search the
DHCP server in the
wireless LAN
environment to obtain
an IP address. It will
take longer without a
DHCP server. If no
DHCP server is found,
an unused IP address is
assigned (Windows
Auto IP feature).
• In the Peer to Peer
mode, the Wireless
Palette status window
does not display any
computer name.

Follow steps 1 through 3 in the section, To
establish communications with the Access Point on
page 44.

Check Peer to Peer and specify Channel.
For Channel, select a channel you want to use for
wireless communications.

Enter the Access Point ID and the Encryption Key.
Enter up to 32 alphanumeric characters for Access
Point ID.
Enter five alphanumeric characters for Encryption
Key.

Click OK.
The Tool Box window appears.

Click the Nickname for the Peer to Peer
configuration you registered previously.

Click Select.
The configuration data of the selected Nickname is
displayed.

Click OK.
The Peer to Peer mode takes effect.
