Crop protection and cleaning products

Use of cleaning agents, crop protection products and
other chemicals
Philips Horticulture GreenPower LED products are
engineered to meet the highest standards in daily usage and
are compatible with the most commonly used crop
protection products and cleaning products in the field.
However, there are some crop protection products and
cleaning agents that may damage the protective surfaces of
the GreenPower LED products and should be avoided.
Please ensure that you take the following instructions into
account when cleaning the GreenPower LED products, your
facility, or when using crop protectors. Philips maintains a
database of chemicals which have been tested. Please
check the instructions in the blue text box*.

Cleaning GreenPower LED products

• Turn off and disconnect the power before cleaning the
product.
• Use a soft damp cloth and an approved cleaning agent*,
e.g. green/soft soap or ethanol, to remove dust or dirt
from the GreenPower LED product.
• Do not use rough or coarse-grained materials, scouring
pads, bleach or solvents.
• The use of a non-approved cleaning product or solvent
could scratch or damage the GreenPower LED product.
• Do not wipe the GreenPower LED product with a dirty
cloth as this may leave a residue, scratch the lenses or
reduce the light output.

Using pesticides, fungicides and insecticides

The use of certain crop protection products like pesticides,
fungicides, insecticides, etc. which could come in contact
with the GreenPower LED product (directly or indirectly)
may cause damage to the GreenPower LED products.

* Approved cleaning agents, crop
protectors and other chemicals
• Please request the most recently approved list of
cleaning agents and crop protection products from
your Philips sales representative, so your cleaning
agent or crop protector can be checked against
those listed in the database.
• If you would like to apply a non-approved crop
protection product, cleaning agent, or other
chemical, or in case of questions about a specific
product, please contact your Philips sales
representative who can advise on the possible
effects on the GreenPower LED products, best
practices and suggest alternatives if needed.
• Note: new crop protection products and cleaning
agents will be added to the list, but the list may not
always reflect the most current brands sold.
• Note: after the use of a non-approved crop protector
or cleaning agent, the GreenPower LED product
warranty will no longer apply.
